Abstract

Our companys main product used to have an API with OK performance, but not much more than that. Then we got a customer who set some hard criterias for performance. For the specific workload they introduced we had to guarantee 1500 requests per second with no more than 15ms latency (total round trip time). From the start we were not even close, had very little time and a budget of almost zero. Complete redesign of central components is always a joy. Come along for the ride!
